Helping Nepal one family at a time

Nepal's recent tragic earthquake prompted me to action. I compiled a list of websites benefiting various charities. I then received a photo from my friend Ngima who is living in a tent with his family.

I asked for his bank account information from our mutual friend Steve. I went to the nearby bank branch and spoke with a banker there. He said the fees would be high (16 percent) for Ngima if I sent a bank wire. He recommended Western Union. I checked Western Union's website to send money to Nepal.  If there are issues with that link, this is Western Union's homepage.

I sent Ngima the money using credit/debit card option and it arrived there faster and cheaper than bank wire from my bank. Western Union emailed me back the Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN) after it arrived. If you want to wire money via Western Union, please list the following information.
